"Half a world away"

"Come quickly" Shaista frantically cries out to her weary mother
She is standing teary eyed over the body of her beloved brother
Shaista's mother is in shock seeing her only son laying there dead
Gone forever from a single bullet wound to the front of his head

The local Taliban threatened to kill him if he did not join thier fight
They made good on their threats, that cold and dreary night
His brutal murder was meant to be an example for one and all
That death is what awaits you if you ignore the Taliban's call

Such intimidation and terror our Pashtuns now face night and day
There must be something more we can do for them besides just pray
As we sit here teary eyed, safe in our rooms, half a world away
